After suffering through a different contractor building and rebuilding the stairs, I called up Marcus and he was able to provide the high quality that my perfectionist eye is looking for! Perfectly straight lines/cuts, wood selection was fantastic, clear sealant, no gaps... I could go on. It's rare to find a top quality contractor. The original one we used has many 5 star ratings, yet every single aspect of our full patio reno looked like a DIY fail, or was not what we ordered. We had to negotiate a termination of contract so we could switch to Black Birch for the stairs. Save yourself the headache, especially if you have an eye for detail, have any amount of prior experience with carpentry, or if you simply want the best.     We hired Marcus to tackle the water issues we were having in our home basement. Water had gotten behind the drywall and into the insulation and we had no idea where it was coming from. Mold was also an issue which was a huge concern for our family's health. Long story short, Marcus found the solution and it wasn't an easy one which included resealing the concrete, putting special waterproof barriers in place, completing new drywall, flooring, installing fans for better ventilation, mold testing, etc. I'm happy to report our basement is now dry, mold free and our family's favourite section of the house. We love it down there!
    The attention to detail Marcus gave to our home was above and beyond. He treated it as if it was his own home. You could really tell he cared. The professional who treated the mold told me he really enjoyed working with Marcus and thought his professionalism, work ethic, and attention to details were qualities he rarely comes across these days.
